Research
I have extensive experience of supervising hypnotherapy research students as a ‘subject specialist’ supervisor. Student projects supervised have been qualitative and quantitative in approach.
Alongside being Chair of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, I also hold the role of Research Officer, advising and guiding the Executive Committee and members on research-related and broader issues.
I regularly speak on hypnosis and hypnotherapy research related topics at conferences in the UK and internationally.
My own related research experience is in the fields of hypnosis and hypnotherapy, information retention, education and hypnotic suggestibility.
My MSc. OEHSM explored immediate and over-time retention rates from visual, auditory and mixed-modality focused training.
My MSc. Psychology explored anxiety, mindfulness and hypnotic susceptibility.
My Doctorate of Education (Ed.D) researched hypnosis and hypnotherapy teaching, learning and professionalism.
